About Me

I am an artist and educator from Syracuse, NY, currently completing my Masters in Art Education at Nazareth University.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

As an art educator, I create a safe and supportive space where students feel free to express themselves and build confidence. I aim to inspire creative thinking and respectful collaboration, helping students recognize their potential through open communication and meaningful artistic work. My goal is to guide students to become thoughtful individuals who apply their learning to succeed in all areas of life.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My artistic practice is rooted in the belief that art has the power to connect people across cultures, experiences, and backgrounds. I am especially drawn to the transformation of discarded and recycled materials often finding beauty and meaning in objects that are overlooked or thrown away. Through painting, printmaking, and mixed media, I explore how reused materials can carry stories, memories, and histories while also encouraging conversations about sustainability and care for the environment. By giving materials a second life, I aim to create work that reflects renewal and the interconnectedness between people and the world around them. I view art as a universal language that allows individuals from different cultural backgrounds to communicate outside of words. I am inspired by artists who use storytelling and personal narratives to build empathy and understanding, and I strive to create work that invites reflection and dialogue. My creative process is intuitive and emotionally driven, allowing each piece to emerge from a combination of personal experience, cultural observation, and experimentation with found materials. The textures and imperfections present within recycled objects become an essential part of the work itself, symbolizing how diverse experiences can come together to create something meaningful.
